Responsibilities

 

Mid-Atlantic FIELD SERVICE ENGINEER

 

As a Field Service Engineer, you’re responsible for commissioning and calibrating laboratory automation devices to meet internal and customer specifications. As a qualified candidate, you’ll have proficiency with measuring devices, mechanical debugging skills and machine components knowledge. You’ll work closely with software and electrical engineers to commission and perform QC on instrumentation. This position will involve travel to customer sites when needed.

 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Proficiency with working on and calibrating laboratory automation devices and/or robotics.
  • Proficiency with hands on mechanical/electrical debugging skills and machine components knowledge.
  • Experience commissioning devices and performing QC for appropriate customer specs.
  • Commissioning systems and devices experience is required.
  • Basic hand tool experience is required.
  • Work closely with electrical/mechanical engineers, firmware development and R&D/Manufacturing team
  • Ability to adjust accordingly based on specific customer requirements.
  • In-house and field service of refrigeration and environmental control devices.

 Travel up to 70% across primarily NY/ PA/ NJ regions.

Qualifications

Essential Knowledge and Skills:

  • BS in mechanical engineering or electrical engineering a plus.  Relevant experience considered in lieu of degree.
  • Familiarity with pneumatic control systems.
  • HVAC /cooling/environmental control systems experience is a big plus.
  • Requires high attention to detail and root cause problem resolution.
  • All work product documents must be publication/presentation worthy.
  • Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills, required to overcome unforeseen challenges quickly and effectively.
  • Work effectively as team member and individually.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of computers is required.
  • DOS, Linux, and networking experience preferred.

 

 Travel up to 70% across primarily NY/ PA/ NJ regions.
