HighRes helps scientists accelerate such research areas as drug discovery, high-throughput genotyping, siRNA screening, next-generation sequencing sample prep, biorepository science, molecular diagnostics, and more. We offer highly flexible, expandable and modular integrated systems, bench-top devices and consumables that are easily configured (and reconfigured) for fast-paced, dynamic laboratories.


    We are currently conducting a search for a talented Software Engineer. We will consider experience of all levels. The incumbent will be involved in New Product Development working on commercial laboratory instrumentation. You will be a member of an Agile team and have the opportunity to work on the full technology stack (e.g. Visual Studio, C#, WPF, Entity Framework, Oracle). Successful candidates will be able to learn quickly and operate independently and cooperatively.

    • Designing, developing, and supporting applications for the Life Science industry
    • Developing software using Visual Studio and the .NET Framework / C#
    • Understanding and analyzing project requirements and translating into programming deliverables
    • Working with software engineers and product managers to build applications as the company grows
    • Supporting quality assurance to achieve quality objectives
    • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
    • Participation in Agile development processes with a team


    • BS/BA in Computer Science or related applied engineering discipline or equivalent work experience
    • Strong overall programming experience using an object-oriented language
    • Comfortable working with hardware
    • Relational database experience
    • Object-Oriented analysis, design and development commensurate with experience level 
    • Understanding of SOLID and DRY principles
    • Experience or willingness to write automated unit tests (e.g NUnit)


    • Experience with scripting (Roslyn, CS-Script)
    • LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System)
    • Experience with WPF and GUI 
    • Experience with RESTful programming
    • Good understanding of computer communications (TCP/IP, RS232)
    • Lab automation integration experience
    • Liquid handling experience
    • Exposure to a Life Science industry
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Experience with test driven development or behavioral driven development
    • Mobile application development / Internet of Things
