  • Overview

    This role, reporting to the Purchasing Manager, will be purchasing materials, supplies and services at the most favorable terms for the organization. Proactively evaluating bids and negotiating prices and terms for purchased goods and services.


    This is a busy team so you must be a self-starter who is comfortable working in a dynamic, team-based environment to reach common objectives with aggressive schedules and shifting priorities.


    • Negotiate purchases of required materials and services from approved suppliers.
    • Responsible for all MRO purchases
    • Supports Engineering in NPI buys for responsible commodity. (off shelf, hardware and electronics)
    • Obtain materials, components and equipment, as required by the production schedule.
    • Interface with internal customers and external suppliers.
    • Establish and maintain long-term relationships with vendors to ensure a high quality, reliable source of supplies and information.
    • Expedite orders as necessary.  Identify actual and potential delivery problems and take proactive steps to inform appropriate personnel.
    • Verify data accuracy (parts numbers, BOMs, Part Costs) in the ERP system
    • Be proficient in interpreting MRP suggestions.
    • Work with Accounts Payable and Receiving to clear invoice and PO receipt issues.
    • Support immediate manager and peers by anticipating problems, providing input on solutions, reacting productively to change and handling other tasks as assigned.


    • Bachelor's degree preferred
    • At least 3+ years of experience in an electro/mechanical manufacturing environment.
    • High degree of professional integrity, ethics and confidentiality
    • Ability to successfully work on multiple projects at once.
    • Effective verbal and written communication, analytical and interpersonal skills.
    • Willingness to contribute outside of defined job description when necessary.
