    HighRes Biosolutions develops innovative automation solutions used by biotech companies and academic research laboratories. We seek interns to help develop reliable, cost-effective mechanical designs of novel robotics and laboratory devices. We offer a focused collaborative environment where an intern has opportunities to make substantial contributions from initial development through production.

    Responsibilities

    • Help design custom robotic systems to meet customer requirements under guidance of engineering and sales team
    • Assist in development of as built engineering documents for new and existing products, including physical schematics and manufacturing documentation
    • Organize Bill-of-Materials (BOMs)
    • Assist in developing specifications, test plans, and other design/build documentation
    • Participate in design reviews
    • Develop and manage timelines and budgets for product development
    • Interface with other engineers for requirements, testing and training.
    • Update and make changes to legacy devices for continuous improvements.
    • Update & detail drawings to current CAD standards.
    • Perform calculations as needed to support new and existing design changes to various devices and robots.
    • Perform FEA analysis typically static structural using built in Solidworks tools.

    Qualifications

    For this position, we generally seek interns working toward a mechanical engineering or related degree, but all applicants will be considered.

     

    We also desire: 

    • Basic mechanical assembly and fabrication skills
    • Basic familiarity with SolidWorks
    • Strong problem solving skills, the ability to overcome unforeseen challenges quickly and effectively
    • High attention to detail
    • Effectiveness as a team member and individually
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Priority will be given to those students with a prior co-op experience 
    • Graduate students must be pursuing a Master's degree
    • Community college students must have completed at least one year or a certificate

    The position is based in Beverly, Massachusetts and it not easily accessable via public transportation. Carpooling with other Co-Op Employees may be an option.
