Overview

We design and build innovative robotic systems and laboratory devices used by pharmaceutical and biotech companies and academic research laboratories. Our work helps scientists accelerate drug discovery, high throughput genotyping, siRNA screening, next-generation sequencing sample prep, biorepository science and molecular diagnostics with highly flexible, expandable and modular integrated systems, bench-top devices and consumables that are easily configured (and reconfigured) to create research environments conducive to achieving breakthrough results.

Responsibilities

We are currently conducting search for a talented Principal Software Engineer who will be involved in Product Development. You will be a member of an Agile team and have the opportunity to work on the full technology stack. Successful candidates will be able to learn quickly and operate independently and cooperatively.

 

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Working with your team to design, implement, and deliver value alongside our customers in the Life Science industry
  • Understand and analyze project requirements and translate into programming deliverables
  • Work with software engineers and product managers to build applications as the company grows
  • Exhibiting technical leadership throughout the broader HighRes organization
  • Support quality assurance and testing to achieve quality objectives
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Qualifications

  • At least 8 years of building production quality software
  • BS/BA in Computer Science or related applied engineering discipline or equivalent work experience
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and convincingly
  • Strong overall programming experience using C# or other object-oriented frameworks
  • Proficiency working with hardware devices
  • Proficiency working with relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server)

 

Pluses:

  • Understanding of SOLID design principles
  • Experience with scripting (Roslyn, CS-Script)
  • LIMS (Laboratory Information Management Systems)
  • Experience with WPF
  • Understanding of computer communications (TCP/IP, RS232)
  • Lab automation integration experience or liquid handling experience
  • Exposure to a Life Science industry
  • Experience with test driven development or behavioral driven development
  • Mobile application development / Internet of Things
